Madeleine Gutierrez

Madeleine grew up in Vermont, where her first experience in an airplane came at age 16 on a skydive that sparked a fascination with flight. Although the skydive was unforgettable, it was the role of the pilot and the act of flying the aircraft that truly captured her interest. She moved to New York City in 2012 to attend college and later became a foster parent while working as an anti–money laundering investigator. While in that role, she took her first discovery flight in Burlington, Vermont, in 2019 and fell in love with aviation.

After the birth of her son and stepping away from the corporate world, she recognized a rare window of opportunity that allowed her to be present at home while pursuing the education required for a new career. She began formal flight training in 2023 and is currently enrolled in flight school in New York, pursuing a career as a Certified Flight Instructor with the goal of making a positive difference in the lives of future pilots, particularly those who, like her, may not have had early exposure to aviation. Madeleine is a member of the Westchester County Chapter of Women in Aviation and remains deeply engaged in her flight school community, contributing to a supportive and inclusive training environment. Outside of flying, Madeleine is a mom to two children, a gymnastics coach, and enjoys playing soccer in her free time.
