I grew up in Douglas Arizona, a small town on the border. What is often thought of as a place of limitations has many of the reasons I fly today. My family has always supported my decision to take up flight, though at times it seemed impossible. In the small town there is a flight school and after one discovery flight I was hooked. I started my aviation journey a year ago, I struggled to get my private pilot’s certificate. But I am a firm believer that anything worth doing is never easy. I now hold my private pilot’s certificate and instrument rating. This scholarship is helping me work towards my commercial certificate. Not only in terms of funds but in motivation as well. It is inspiring to know people believe in me and want to help me reach my dreams. I hope to be a flight instructor that inspires others and provides encouragement, especially when things become difficult.  I look forward to the day when I can share my passion for aviation and contribute to the growth of aspiring pilots like the Dare to Dream scholarship committee.
