In 2020 during the height of the Pandemic I, like many others, started reevaluating my future. I had spent the last 7 years working as a Chief Stewardess aboard private Super Yachts and I knew it was time for a career change. A scary thing to do in your mid-30’s I might add! When I finally was able to take some leave I decided to listen to a sub-conscious hunch that I should take a helicopter discovery flight. My subconscious knew what it was doing and I immediately decided to pursue a Private Pilot License. The past two years have been an up and down struggle of working to fund my training and continuing to move forward with my ratings. This scholarship will finish paying for my Commercial Rating and help me get started towards being a Certified Flight Instructor. My dream future career would be to work Emergency Medical Services/Search and Rescue/or fire fighting in Alaska in the summer, then do game conservation in Southern Africa in the winters. I still have a long way to go but I know it will absolutely be worth it! When not studying or flying I still love all things water-bound and am most happy spending time outdoors in nature.
