Annie’s passion for aviation began in childhood, but it truly took flight when her uncle took her on her first ride in a general aviation aircraft. That experience sparked a lifelong ambition to turn flying from a dream into a career. Annie pursued this passion at Metropolitan State University of Denver, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Aviation and Aerospace Science. During her time at MSU Denver, she served as the Historian for the Alpha Eta Rho Sigma Phi chapter and as the Membership and Design Chair for the Women in Aviation chapter.
Annie took full advantage of opportunities to engage with and learn from the aviation community, including an internship at Denver International Airport. There, she worked in the ramp tower and became actively involved with DEN’s Center of Equity and Excellence in Aviation. This experience fueled her passion for empowering and encouraging the next generation of aviators and innovators. Annie also participates in her local Mile High Women in Aviation chapter and mentors high school students who are recipients of the James C. Ray Scholarship offered by Wings Over the Rockies—an organization that supported her in achieving her private pilot license four years ago.
Annie is currently an instrument-rated commercial pilot and is working toward her flight instructor certification with aspirations of flying for a legacy carrier. She looks forward to instructing students and making a meaningful impact on the next generation of pilots.
Annie is continually inspired by the powerful women she has the privilege of surrounding herself with and is grateful to be a part of so many incredible communities. She dreams of one day giving back by creating a scholarship fund for aspiring female aviators and continuing to be actively involved in the aviation community. She is extremely grateful to be awarded this scholarship and wants to thank all the donors who are making her dreams come true.
In her free time, she enjoys playing golf, skiing, traveling, and being active.
